Hello, I am Elena
I work as a project manager. I am a parent. An expatriate based in Florence, Italy.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually evolved into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Italy wasn't in our long-range plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a work opportunity and quickly grew into something far larger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks felt more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet over time, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built GentleCliffSphere
Most online sources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow travel content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance rooted in real-life experience in Italy.
